Reality Check May 17, 2010 Mad Fan (Manchester UK) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Putting all of her songs on one album reminds me of why i hated her in the 80's, loathed her in the 90's (for ripping off Madonna, and badly) and forgot about her in the 00's. She truly is a vapid artist whos still around today because of her ability to re-invent herself as the new Madonna, by using Madonna... funny how people forget her Madonna sex phase and the trashing she took for it, the loathing in the media, the label of the Singing Budgie, she isnt Madonna and never will be. The songs are a mish mash of semi hits and forgetables, some are down right awful. Forever Europe and Australias darling she will remain that for the rest of her camp career, Americans had taste, they have Madonna. Go buy Celebration, perfect.

Not Quite Ultimate November 17, 2009 Impossible Prince This is a nice collection of all Kylie's more recent hits before X, and the mre succesful from her SAW and DeConstruction days. The second disc is a nice summary of her post-SAW work and is not harmed by the lack of 'Some Kind Of Bliss' or 'Where Is The Feeling?'. But, the first CD would have been greatly improved if only a couple of songs - namely 'It's No Secret' and 'Finer Feelings' were included. Admitedly, the first was only released as a single in a few countries, but it's definitely an early classic and one of her more mature recordings from her 80's period. The second, though not as big a hit as 'I Should Be So Lucky' or 'Better the Devil You Know', shows a hint of the Kylie to come a couple of years later, being her first colaboration with Brothers in Rhythm. Her final SAW single, 'What Kind of Fool', a pastiche of her early work, would have also been worthy of inclusion, making the two discs a little more balanced.
It's still a good collection though, especially for the casual listener who rememebrs the old stuff or just wants some light but good quaity pop.
