3 out of 5 stars hmmm   August 10, 2010

fine

If you are after a reggae-remix of a classic, the "Easy-Stars'" "Dub side of the moon" is fantastic! After that, it is hard to compare well, and for me, this does not.

Overall it's a great album but it's a bit more of a grower than the other two. What really works for me is She's Leaving Home what a sweet voice.

Only thing that dissapoints me is it doesn't have the dub versions at the end like the other two albums. Though there is a link where you can download them from their site but the bit rate issn't great for those. I would much rather have them on the album itself.

As for what ever they do next...well I understand that the idea is to "re-do" concept albums. How about Bowie's Ziggy Stardub and the Dreads from Mars?

it's the brass that makes the beatle -reggae thing work so well.
this is a beautiful record-barkingly psychedelic.

I felt a bit let down by this, the first two are genuinely great but this feels like they're trying far too hard.

Also, the word "dub" is misleading, as all the songs have vocals all the way through. Far more than the previous two LPs.

Maybe this project's jumped the shark already?

To my surprise this is a very good album.
The songs are of course familiair, but Easy Star has done a good job to give the Beatle songs a reggae sound.
If you like the Beatles and/or reggae music, you should buy this CD instantly !
