5 out of 5 stars simply the best dance album of 2010 and unexpectedly so   July 22, 2010
63Neil
We where do you start, brilliant, diverse, hauntly beautiful with shades of Fleetwood Mac in Just with you Tonight, Bryan Ferry on Shameless......what a legend.....what a voice achingly cool. Fall Silent full of emotion, pain, love..........hairs on the neck moments.

I bought this album uncharacteristically having heard a couple of bars from one track whilst wandering around a music store.......its my new best friend. However its tracks such as Paper Romance and History with its hints of Bronski Beat Smalltown Boy..........that just tip the whole album into another league.

I have been an ON/OFF fan of GA for years....clearly I am seriously back ON after this album.

4 out of 5 stars Bit oh a hidden gem   July 15, 2010
Richard Hammond (St. Albans, UK)
Full of character and invention, in particular the most interesting use of Brian Ferry's voice of all time on gut-wrentchingly, pleadingly dark, tune - Shameless (listen out for the terribly sad moment of near redemption in the melody two-thirds in - blimey). Long gone is the floaty introspective GA of old and in its place is some crunchy, urgent, almost late '70s new wave. Love it. There are five pretty ordinary tracks in there though - it's as if the band are still trying to get comfortable in the sound and that the process is edit-less: whatever comes out is whatever comes out. Favorite track is the blimmin' massive Paper Romance. Play it loud.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant album!   July 11, 2010

After seeing GA at glasto this year I was blown away by their performance and new sound. I've since bought this album and a few listens in.. this is possibly the best dance album I've heard in 10-15 years! Tom & Andy, with the help of a magnificent SaintSaviour and inspired collaborations with Bryan Ferry and Will Young, have managed to create a record that beautifully recaptures all that was good about the house/rave scene but with a fresh and sublime sound. The whole record is brilliant but the stand out tracks for me are 1, 7, 9, 10 & 11. I play it in my car, in the house, getting ready, in my dreams... they've made an old skool raver feel young and excited about dance music again. You must buy this record!

1 out of 5 stars Not the Groove Armada I like   July 6, 2010

not a patch on the other albums by this band. Rather disappointing which probably goes to say why this album is cheap to but. Dont waste ya money

5 out of 5 stars still got it!!!   July 1, 2010

What a great album! Flicking through the tele, watching Glastonbury, at first watching Gorillizas then found GA! I've always liked GA and have a couple of albums, checked this out here on amazon, read the reviews, bought it and like one reviewer my reaction at first listen was similar, i.e - hmmm, different but good, second listen - yep i like it and third listen onwards and i'm loving it! It's always on at the moment, in my car, house, as i'm getting into each track. Track 7 is my fave so far. So clever are GA. I look forward to the next offering!
