Ian Drury way ahead of his time. Great Service from Seller Thanks August 30, 2010 M. R. Fry (Notts, UK) I did not remember the groups repertoire being so fantastic. This album has captivated my imagination & I play it over & over. The tracks are totally relevant to todays music & would not be out of place in any MTV, Radio 1 or 6music playlist.
I really can't believe that I missed this material first time around, must have been deafened by all the AC\DC, Vardis, Scorpions, Led Zeppelin & Motorhead stuff & spaced out on the heavy aroma of the patchouli oil & sweat (them was the days!!!!!)
Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll - The Essential Collection [Explicit] (MP3 Exclusive Version)
Thanks for reading my meanderings.

Classic Ian Dury July 3, 2010 J. Cheek 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
All the well-known classics plus some others I'd not heard before. I prefer his witty more melodic songs to the punky ones and I thought the addition of the 12" versions of Hit Me and Reasons to be Cheerful unnecessary when it already included the 7" versions.
It's all your body needs! March 18, 2010 Lewis (United Kingdom) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was aware of Ian Dury and the Blockheads existence before seeing the film, but - to my shame - was not fully aware how good they actually were musically. This compilation is ideal if you've discovered the music of Ian Dury and the Blockheads the way I did, and like what you heard.
Unique Talent February 23, 2010 The Imposter (Cramlington, UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
You can't fault this album, virtually all of the classic New Boots and Panties with
the best of the rest of Ian and the Blockheads career. The only problem is the sleeve notes are none existent. No mention of who played on each track or even a mention of The Blockheads, who were just as important as Ians lyrics (which you also don't get)! Still the songs are great to here again, with Ians unique humour coming to the fore on most tracks (if you don't smile listening to Billericay Dickie or Clever B*****ds you havn't got a sense of humour. Exellent introduction to the great man or to to replace old vinyl (like me)
