5 out of 5 stars Very accessible   June 24, 2010

I enjoyed this album, it is fairly commercial so a lot of the tunes caught my ear.

3 out of 5 stars one or two stand out tracks   May 15, 2010
Cathy Linton
An okish album but purchased on the strength of one or two excellent tracks (you over did it doll) the rest of it is pretty mediocre. Would ave been better off just downloading the singles I liked in all honesty.

the musical arrangements are a definite improvement on their last album but the lyrics are pretty weak. definitely not living up to their self proclaimed "going to be bigger than oasis" hype!

4 out of 5 stars A worthy second album   May 13, 2010
Philhydro (UK)
Better than their first long player, the Courteeners have come up trumps with Falcon. The somewhat bitty first album of St Jude has progressed into this second outing and things have changed for the better. Catchier songs and maturity in Liam Fray's song writing ability can be heard. One of my favourite albums of the year so far. Enjoy!

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant!   May 1, 2010

It was bought as a present for a mate and he loved it, as did his wife and two teenage children. Apparently a family favourite!

5 out of 5 stars Great stuff, not The Smiths/Libertines   April 24, 2010
'mon the pars (Glasgow, Scotland)
Great album - as mentioned by a lot of people, musically comparable to later Doves/earlier Elbow (the gravelly voice of the singer is a joy), lyrically resembling the 1st 2 Arctic Monkeys albums (listen to the chorus of "The Opener" - genius). 1st album St Jude is great admittedly and - if you enjoy plinky plonky Smiths/Libertines (albeit more skilfully played than Messrs Barat and Docherty) guitar work - choose that. However, if your after more of the thick, layered, driving guitars on St Jude single "Not Nineteen Forever", buy this - it wont disappoint.
