Not at her best on this album if you like texas you may not like this, as it is different from her usual stuff .I must say I do like it .

SHARLEEN SPITERI has a sensational singing voice and i much like many
of her brilliant pop songs with her band TEXAS. I also like most of Sharl's
songs on first solo album MELODY. However i have to say that there are several
of the 13 songs on THE MOVIE SONGBOOK are not much to my liking.
Although i have rated this album with three stars-which i think it fairly deserves.
In my opinion just a few tracks of this CD i enjoyed listening[i have played the whole
album some three times-because sometimes songs you dislike can grow on you].
However,for me,the outstanding song on here is actually "XANADU" originally sung by
OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN.
I personally think maybe some wrong song choices were made on here, but,then again,
she clearly liked these movie songs.
But i would still urge for fans of Texas/Sharleen Spiteri to hear all the songs on Sharl's
"The Movie Songbook" because you may like the entire album[mine is only my opinion]and other reviewers
have rated it as high as five stars.
I do much prefer listening to her solo songs on MELODY but far much better still the many classics she
recorded with Texas. I hope that they actually will reform soon,and write some new material together.

As mentioned in the CDs booklet these songs were all recorded over eight days at Hollywood's Legendary Capital Studios.

I honestly don't know why people are cutting into this album. I feel that most of the tracks on this album are very good, some of the tracks even better than the originals!
I think that there are about two tracks on here where I am not a huge fan of the originals, but even though, I have to say, this makes for a pretty good album. I was particuarly impressed by the slow, smokey bar numbers, God Bless the Child,
Windmills of your Mind and This ones from the Heart.
I urge you guys to try listening to this album and giving it another try. ;-)

I purchased this book to use with adult learners as other reviews stated that it could be used for this age group. Unfortunately, most of the material is only really suitable for children and young adults. Disappointed.
