Recovered! September 5, 2010 PJ88 A must have album! This is easily his best work. Some very powerful, hard hitting tracks; that are as always blunt and to the point! A couple of really top tracks with Rhiana and Pink to throw into the mix!
A new Eminem? September 2, 2010 Alison Pole (Wraysbury, UK) I really love this record. The tracks that grabbed me first are Love the Way You Lie, Won't Back Down and Talkin" 2 Myself. However it is a whole concept and a new energy is apparent in Eminem. I like lyrics so there is a lot of Bob Dylan, Em and Pete Doherty, in all his changes, in my record collection. A lot of people think it's a weird mix but the quality they share is a great and masterful use of words. They create images and pull me into their stories. I think if Em can deal with the pressure we have the prospect of more of what made Em in the first place; people empathized and felt what he did but couldn't express it. I wish him all the best.
Average August 28, 2010 Mr. Russell C. Witheyman This is a poor follow up to the brilliant Relapse from a couple of years back. When Relapse came out i thought that it was a superb comeback with some excellent production by Dr Dre and tight raps from Mr Mathers. Recovery is something of a step back. Recovery is not a terrible album just a very average one. Vocally it's superb but production wise it lacking. DJ Khalil is no Dre and even the likes of Pink and Lil Wayne can't add any flavour to a dull album. I used to play Relapse all the time but i was totally bored of Recovery after about 3 listens. There's a few decent tracks. "Seduction" is cool "25 to life" is another great song and single "love the way you lie" is also excellent. The rest left me just a bit meh! ..the beats just seemed to be a bit dull and uninspired.
Just ok for me.
Something Fresh... August 27, 2010 Mr. Tim D. Patmore (Somewhere in Madagascar) I've just been listening to this album, and this is just to say that all the (positive) comments & reviews are true - this album really is Eminem back on top form. But it's not like his previous album's in having skits & similar themes running through it (e.g. his mom, illegal chemicals & mocking celebrities).
This album is something bold, new & innovative, almost like it's been done by a completely different rapper - so altered is the material.
And the best thing about this reinvention is that it is raw & rough - tracks like Going Through Changes & Cold Wind Blows are unlikely to be singles, but are there to add texture to the album.
Some have said it is as good as The Eminem Show & I'd partly agree (to emphasise how good it is compared to the last two albums).
However, I don't think it is quite as vivid & attention-grabbing as his peak & I'd say it was more comparable with Invaders Must Die or The God Delusion in being ground-breaking work, but not quite on the level of their peerless work in their youth.
Still, don't let that stop you buying this album, as it really is a very impressive & lyrically sound record.
That said, if you only have £10 to your name, then don't buy this.
Why?
Because I think the album following Alive Till I'm Dead by Professor Green will be incomparably better. And besides, I'm sure Eminem would forgive you!

Great lyrics & tunes make this album a must have for all Eminem fans. Rap on Eminem, brilliant.
